Description
Air Fryer Egg & Cheese Toast is a quick, comforting breakfast or snack with crispy golden bread, a perfectly cooked egg, and melty cheese. Made with minimal ingredients and ready in minutes.
Ingredients
1 slice thick-cut bread
1 tsp butter, softened
1 large egg
2 tbsp cheese (shredded or sliced)
1 pinch salt (or to taste)
1 pinch black pepper (or to taste)
1 tsp fresh herbs, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 2–3 minutes.
2. Lightly butter the bread on one side. Place bread butter-side up.
3. Press the center of the bread with the back of a spoon to make a shallow well.
4. Crack the egg into the well. (If needed, add the white first, then the yolk to keep it centered.)
5. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper.
6. Air fry 5–7 minutes, until the egg white is mostly set and the toast is golden.
7. Sprinkle cheese over the egg and toast. Air fry 1–2 minutes more, until cheese is melted.
8. Top with fresh herbs (optional) and serve immediately.
Notes
Timing can vary by air fryer and bread thickness—start checking at 5 minutes.
For a runny yolk, cook on the shorter end before adding cheese.
For a firmer yolk, cook 1–2 minutes longer before adding cheese.
Use parchment made for air fryers (with holes) if your bread is very light and tends to move, but keep it clear of the heating element.
