Description
A delicious fusion of cheeseburgers and quesadillas, featuring seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and a tangy burger sauce — cooked crispy in a skillet for an easy 30-minute dinner.
Ingredients
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder (optional)
1/2 cup finely chopped onion (optional)
2 cups shredded cheddar or cheddar-jack cheese
4 large tortillas (use gluten-free if needed)
1–2 tsp butter or 1 tbsp oil (for the skillet)
Tangy Burger Sauce:
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
1 tbsp pickle relish (optional, mild)
Instructions
1. Cook the beef: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef (and onion if using). Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook until browned. Drain excess grease.
2. Make the sauce: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and relish until smooth.
3. Assemble: Wipe skillet clean and lightly grease with butter/oil. Add 1 tortilla. Sprinkle cheese over half the tortilla.
4. Fill: Add cooked beef, drizzle burger sauce, then add more cheese.
5. Cook: Fold tortilla in half (or top with another tortilla). Cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cheese melts.
6. Serve: Rest 1 minute, slice into wedges, and serve warm.
Notes
Gluten-free option: Use gluten-free tortillas.
Protein swap: Ground turkey or chicken works great.
Kid-friendly: Skip relish for a milder sauce.
Best reheat: Warm in a skillet to keep it crispy (microwave softens tortillas).
Storage: Refrigerate airtight up to 2 days.
