These Easy Chex Mix Muddy Buddies (also called puppy chow) are a quick, no-bake snack made with crispy Chex cereal coated in melted chocolate and peanut butter, then tossed in powdered sugar. Sweet, crunchy, and ready in minutes—perfect for snacks, parties, or a small-batch treat.
Ingredients
4 cups Rice Chex (or Corn Chex)
3/4 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
1. Measure the Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl and set aside.
2. In a microwave-safe bowl, add chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter.
3. Microwave in 20–30 second bursts, stirring well each time, until fully melted and smooth.
4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
5. Pour the chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal. Gently fold until all pieces are evenly coated.
6. Add powdered sugar to a large zip-top bag (or a lidded container). Add the coated cereal.
7. Seal and shake gently until every piece is well coated in powdered sugar.
8. Spread on parchment paper for 5–10 minutes to cool and set. Serve immediately or store.

For a snack for two, cut the recipe in half or store leftovers for later.
Nut-free option: swap peanut butter for sunflower seed butter.
Add-ins: stir in mini pretzels or mini marshmallows after coating (once cooled).
