Description
Elegant no-bake chocolate domes with a glossy dark chocolate shell and a light, creamy mascarpone-cocoa filling. Perfect for dinner parties, holidays, or anytime you want a bakery-style dessert at home.
Ingredients
8 oz dark chocolate (chopped or chips)
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 cup mascarpone cheese
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Melt the dark chocolate with the coconut oil until smooth and glossy (microwave in short bursts or use a double boiler).
2. Spoon melted chocolate into silicone dome or half-sphere molds. Swirl/tilt to coat the sides evenly. Chill 10–15 minutes to set. For thicker shells, repeat with a second coat and chill again.
3. Whip the heavy cream in a cold bowl until soft peaks form. Refrigerate while you prep the rest.
4. In another bowl, mix mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until smooth.
5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until light and airy.
6. Fill the chilled chocolate shells with the mascarpone cream, leaving a small gap at the top.
7. Seal each dome with more melted chocolate to close the bottom. Chill at least 1 hour (or until firm).
8. Unmold carefully. Serve chilled, optionally dusted with cocoa powder or topped with berries.
Notes
Substitutions: Use semi-sweet chocolate for a sweeter shell. Swap coconut oil with unsalted butter. If mascarpone is unavailable, use softened full-fat cream cheese (flavor will be tangier).
Tips: Chill molds well for easy unmolding. For extra flavor, add 1/2 tsp espresso powder or 1 tsp orange zest to the filling.
Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days. Freezing is not recommended (texture may change).
