Description

These easy 3-ingredient cottage cheese bagels are soft, chewy, and high in protein.

No yeast needed — perfect for a quick breakfast or healthy snack.


Ingredients

1¼ cups full-fat cottage cheese (about 285 g)

1⅛ cups self-rising flour (about 140 g)

1 large egg (for egg wash)

Optional: seasoning blend (everything bagel, sesame, poppy, garlic herb)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Blend or mash cottage cheese until mostly smooth for the best texture.

3. In a bowl, mix cottage cheese with self-rising flour until a soft dough forms (slightly sticky is okay).

4. Divide dough into 6 equal pieces.

5. Roll each piece into a rope and connect the ends to form a bagel shape.

6. Place bagels on the baking sheet. Brush tops with beaten egg.

7. Sprinkle with seasoning blend if desired.

8. Bake 18–22 minutes, until set and lightly golden.

9. Cool 5 minutes, then serve warm or toasted.

Notes

If dough feels too sticky, dust hands with a little flour (add small amounts only).

For smoother bagels, blending the cottage cheese helps a lot.

Seasoning is optional—leave plain for kids or add your favorite topping.

Storage: airtight container 2 days (room temp) or up to 5 days (fridge).

Freezer-friendly: freeze up to 2 months; reheat in toaster or oven.
