Description
Fresh deviled strawberries filled with a light cheesecake-style cream and finished with graham cracker crumbs. An easy no-bake party dessert and finger food for gatherings, birthdays, potlucks, and holidays.
Ingredients
18–24 large strawberries
1 cup heavy whipping cream
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sour cream
2/3 cup white granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
Instructions
1. Prep the strawberries by cutting off the stems and slicing each strawberry in half lengthwise.
2. Slice a thin sliver off the back of each strawberry half so that it can sit flat on a serving tray.
3. Use a small melon baller or spoon to carefully hollow out a small indent in the center of each strawberry half so the cream cheese filling has a place to sit.
4. In a medium mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form, about 5 minutes, then set aside.
5. In a separate bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth and creamy.
6. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully incorporated and light.
7. Transfer the cheesecake filling to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
8. Pipe the creamy filling into the center of each prepared strawberry half in a decorative swirl.
9. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over the filled strawberries to add a cheesecake-style flavor and light crunch.
10. Arrange the deviled strawberries on a platter, serve immediately, or chill until ready to enjoy.
Notes
To make these deviled strawberries low carb, use a low-carb sweetener instead of sugar and omit the graham cracker crumbs.
The number of strawberries you need will depend on their size; you may have a bit of cream cheese filling left over.
The cream cheese mixture, including the whipped cream, can be prepared the day before and stored covered in the refrigerator.
Strawberries can be cut and prepped a day ahead; store them in an airtight container lined with a paper towel so they stay fresh and don’t pick up refrigerator odors.
