Description

Rich, fudgy Guinness Chocolate Brownies with a deep chocolate punch and subtle roasted stout-style richness. Perfect for holidays, bake sales, or cozy weekends. (Family-safe option included: swap Guinness for strong coffee or chocolate milk.)

Ingredients

Scale

4 large eggs

3/4 cup salted butter, melted

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 1/2 cups white sugar

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 cups all-purpose flour

10 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups Guinness stout (or substitute—see notes)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment (or grease well).

2. Melt butter (if not already melted) and let cool slightly.

3. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, vegetable oil, white sugar, and powdered sugar until smooth and glossy.

4. Whisk in eggs one at a time until fully blended, then stir in vanilla.

5. Whisk in cocoa powder until the batter looks thick and very dark.

6. Fold in flour just until no dry streaks remain (do not overmix).

7. Fold in chocolate chips.

8. Slowly pour in Guinness (or substitute) and stir gently until combined.

9. Spread batter evenly in the pan.

10. Bake 35–45 minutes, until edges are set and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).

11. Cool completely before slicing into squares for clean cuts.

Notes

Family-safe swap: Replace Guinness with 1 1/2 cups strong brewed coffee (cooled) for the best deep chocolate flavor, or use chocolate milk for a milder, kid-friendly option.

For extra fudgy brownies, bake closer to 35–38 minutes and cool fully before cutting.

Storage: Keep airtight at room temp up to 3 days, fridge up to 1 week, or freeze up to 3 months (wrap individually).
