Description
These no-bake Peppermint Oreo Balls are rich, chocolatey Oreo truffles mixed with cream cheese, dipped in sweet white chocolate, and rolled in crushed peppermint candies for the perfect festive holiday dessert or edible gift.
Ingredients
36 Oreos
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
16 ounces white chocolate melting wafers
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
48 peppermint candies, crushed
Instructions
1. Add the Oreos and softened cream cheese to a food processor and process until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
2. Scoop out small portions of the mixture and roll into 1-inch balls. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
3. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for about 20 minutes, or until the Oreo balls are firm.
4. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate melting wafers in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.
5. Stir the peppermint extract into the melted white chocolate.
6. Using a fork, dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted white chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off.
7. Immediately roll each dipped ball in the crushed peppermint candies to coat the outside.
8. Return the coated Peppermint Oreo Balls to the parchment-lined baking sheet and let the chocolate set before serving or storing.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free chocolate sandwich cookies instead of regular Oreos.
Store Peppermint Oreo Balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 2 months.
For a milder mint flavor, use just a few drops of peppermint extract or replace the peppermint candies with festive sprinkles.
Serve chilled for the best flavor and texture, especially on holiday dessert platters or cookie trays.
