Description
Perfect Baked Sweet Potatoes with fluffy, naturally sweet centers and lightly crisp skins. Made with minimal ingredients and finished with butter, salt, and cracked black pepper—an easy side, snack, or meal prep staple.
Ingredients
4 medium sweet potatoes (scrubbed clean and dried)
Sea salt, to taste
Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp unsalted butter (for serving)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
2. Scrub sweet potatoes well and pat completely dry for best texture.
3. Pierce each sweet potato 4–5 times with a fork to vent steam.
4. Place sweet potatoes on the baking sheet (do not wrap in foil).
5. Bake 45–60 minutes, depending on size, until very tender and a knife slides in easily.
6. Split each potato open lengthwise and fluff the inside with a fork.
7. Season with sea salt and cracked black pepper, add butter, and serve warm.
Notes
For extra crisp skin, lightly rub the skins with a little oil and sprinkle with salt before baking.
Bake time varies by size—start checking at 45 minutes.
For meal prep, cool completely and refrigerate up to 4 days.
Reheat in the oven for the best texture, or microwave for speed.
