Description

Fudgy chocolate brownies with a molten chocolate center that melts with every bite. This decadent dessert is rich, warm, and perfect for serious chocolate lovers.


Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter

8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar, packed

4 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

1/4 cup heavy cream


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.

2. Melt the butter and 8 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate together until smooth, then let it cool slightly.

3. Stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.

4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.

5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.

6. Fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined.

7. Heat the heavy cream and pour it over the remaining 4 ounces of chopped semi-sweet chocolate. Let sit for 1 minute, then stir until smooth to make the lava filling.

8. Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.

9. Spoon the lava filling over the batter, leaving a small border around the edges.

10. Cover with the remaining brownie batter and smooth the top.

11. Bake for 25 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is still slightly soft.

12. Cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving warm.

Notes

Do not overbake if you want a gooey molten center.

Use good-quality semi-sweet chocolate for the richest flavor.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or fresh berries.

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature or up to 5 days in the refrigerator.

Reheat slightly before serving to bring back the lava texture.
