Description
Soft, chewy cookies filled with rich Nutella that melts in the center for the ultimate chocolate hazelnut dessert.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
1/2 cup Nutella, or more as needed for filling
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
6. Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
7. Scoop a portion of dough and flatten it slightly in your hand.
8. Place a small spoonful of Nutella in the center.
9. Cover with another piece of dough and seal the edges well so the Nutella stays inside.
10. Arrange the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
11. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft.
12. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes before serving for the best gooey center.
Notes
For easier filling, chill the Nutella in small dollops before stuffing the cookies.
Do not overbake if you want the centers to stay soft and gooey.
You can use white chocolate chips or chopped nuts for variation.
A small sprinkle of sea salt on top adds a delicious sweet-salty flavor.
